Global Velocity currently has a position open at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO for a Senior Hardware Engineer whose background is primarily in the area of developing and simulating VHDL code. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world class technology firm to work on its flagship network information security product. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.

Initial tasks will be focused on the development of module level and top level simulation test cases targeted at Global Velocity's current FPGA design effort. Future tasks will include detailed design work focused on FPGA feature enhancement.

Successful candidate will have:

• Developed extensive VHDL test cases with >95% code coverage
• Experience with FPGA resource utilization management
• Ability to develop behavioral VHDL RTL code
• Experience performing Regression Testing
• Ability to model hardware at a high level utilizing C/C++ or Mathematica

Required skills:

• ModelSim
• Altera Quartus II
• Linux
• VHDL

Desired skills:

• TCP/IP
• Perl
• Tck/Tcl
• Mathematica
• Matlab
• FPGA or ASIC design background

Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
• BS/MS/PhD in a technical field from an accredited university. Individuals with degrees in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics are strongly encouraged to apply if they possess the required skills
• The ability and willingness to work independently with a minimum of supervision
• 5-7 years of hardware architecture and VHDL or Verilog programming experience
