Global Velocity currently has a position open at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to work on our flagship network information security product. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world class technology firm and help build the engineering operations for the company. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.

Initial tasks will be focused on the development of module level and top level simulation test cases targeted at Global Velocity's current FPGA design effort. Future tasks will include detailed design work focused on FPGA feature enhancement.

Successful candidate will be able to:

  • Develop test plans and project plans, based on overall project requirements
  • Participate in design meetings with the Project Management, Design and Development group and clients to analyze functional specifications
  • Create, maintain and update test strategy, test conditions, test cases and regression scripts, based on business requirements
  • Manually test new system hardware, firmware and software
  • Adhere to the testing principles in the Software Development Lifecycle as implemented by Global Velocity
  • Report and manage software issues and test activities throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Attend project meetings to report on status of testing, to communicate issues, to implement QA standards and policies, and to communicate QA schedule

Required skills:

  • Solid understanding of quality assurance testing process
  • Exposure to quality best practice
  • Experience creating and executing test plans, strategies, cases, and scripts.
  • Knowledgeable of Internet/Web technologies, such as web browsers, http, and html.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledgeable in embedded software testing
  • Knowledgeable in CPLD-based hardware/firmware is a plus
  • Must be a team player, able to work independently with minimal supervision and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience with defect/test management tools
  • Experience working with automation tools like WinRunner, QuickTestPro, SilkTest, IXIA, Agilent
  • Experience Testing embedded applications networking equipment and web-based user interfaces
  • Experience in network/data security industry a plus

Qualifications:

  • BS In Computer Science
  • In-depth knowledge of testing techniques
  • 5-7 years of testing experience (C++, Linux, Java Software and UI; Hardware and firmware)
  • 3+ years of QA lead experience
  • 3+ years of networking experience or networking knowledge
