Center for
Emerging Technology to Honor Global Velocity
ST. LOUIS,
June 11, 2008 -- The Center for Emerging Technologies
is celebrating its 10th Anniversary on June 12, 2008.
In honor of that occasion, awards will be presented
to R&D-based companies that started or developed
in St. Louis and in the last ten years and received
a minimum of $10 million in financing from venture funds,
angel investors, grants and/or corporate funding.
“We are excited
that Global Velocity has been selected as one of the
award winners for 2008,” said Ed Morrissey, Vice
President of Global Velocity, “our recognition
demonstrates the region’s commitment to technology
start-ups and the entrepreneurs paving the way forward.”
Representatives from
Global Velocity will attend a gala reception to celebrate
the center’s success and to kick-off the next
decade’s promise of breakthrough ideas becoming
reality.
